So I guess it’s my turn to introduce myself.
I’m Clinton the Designer? Art Director?…to be honest I’ve not yet decided on a title for myself, I quite like “Pixel Führer” but that sounds a little harsh, basically I make the shiny stuff.
I first got my hands on Adobe Photoshop in ‘95, I think it was the first version and belonged to a friend’s father who ran a video editing company.
Although I studied Marine Biology at university, I had developed my Photoshop skills to the point that I was tutoring Architecture and Design students.
When I went into employment I was able to use my experience to train my team members in Photoshop and Paintshop Pro although they only needed the basics. Not officially a designer at this stage I did however do several posters as well as other bits and pieces for the company, when the need arose.
I have been trying to make a go of freelancing as a Web and Graphic Designer for the past few years, and co-created my first game with Chris a little over a year ago.
As for games, the ones that really stand out to me from the past are “Day of the Tentacle” “Toe-Jam and Earl” “SimCity” and the early GTAs, I think these have influenced my design style greatly, I love Pixel art.
In terms of favorite design packages; Photoshop is obviously the king (I’m currently rocking CS4), for vectors I love Inkscape, it is possibly the best example of open source I’ve encountered, although I’m working on improving my Adobe Illustrator skills, I also quite like Google Sketch-Up for playing with simple three dimensional concepts, there are of cause many more but these are the ones I use most often.
Away from the computer I enjoy making things such as: masks, para-cord jewelry, gift boxes, fancy dress props, the list goes on. I’m also a movie fanatic with a tendency to collect a lot more than I ever get round to watching, a habit I’m trying to break myself of.
I look forward to sharing our games and my designs with you.

P.S. My posts will often be poorly spelt with incorrect grammar, I’m dyslexic so I guess we will all just have to live with it. Sorry.

We’re still in the “so, what game shall we make?” phase at One Eyed Cafe, so in the mean time we thought it might be nice to introduce ourselves.
We currently have a team of two. I’m the first, and some might say most awesome, member of the team so here goes…
10 PRINT “My name is Chris and I’m the coder. I wrote my first game, a crappy text adventure, in GW-BASIC many years ago (I may even have it kicking around on a 5.25 inch floppy somewhere).”
20 GOTO 30
30 PRINT “More recently I’ve spent time developing games for iOS. This will probably be the platform we target for our first games at One Eyed Cafe. I love how quickly I can get a game in front of millions of players.”
40 PRINT “The agile development environment reminds me of those early days of bedroom coding.”
50 PRINT “Gaming wise I think Baldurs Gate has to be my favourite game of all time, closely followed by Sonic the Hedgehog. This year I’m particularly looking forward to Journey and Skyrim.”
60 PRINT “Outside of games, I have an unhealthy interest in Coffee. I, like everyone else, love to travel. I also like snowboarding (or heel edging down steep slopes much to the amusement of my friends).”
70 PRINT “I also maintain my own blog at Bytesize Adventures and you can follow me on twitter @chrismwaite”
